Dobkin first joined the National Association of Television Program Executives in March of 1992 as an accounts payable/receivable clerk. In less than a year, he was named Senior Account and quickly earned promotions to Manager of Business Affairs and Director of Business Affairs, before being named Vice President of Finance in February 1995. In February 2001, he was named Chief Financial Officer, with responsibility for the financial operations of the association consistent with the budget approved by the Board of Directors and association policies under the direction of the President and CEO. He also created and continues to manage the corporate investment with board approval and supervises six staff in accounting and in-house computer departments. During his tenure with NATPE, Dobkin is credited with recommending and implementing cost reductions totaling 15% of NATPE’s operational budget. He was also responsible for overseeing the creation of the new and improved NATPE in-house database system, consolidating five different databases into one with data mapping. A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Dobkin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics with High Honors in June 1991. Prior to earning his degree, Dobkin passed the Certified Public Accountant examination in his first sitting in May of that same year.
