Schacher began his Tribune career in 1979 as director of research for KTLA-TV, Los Angeles. He became director of programming at KWGN-TV, Denver, in 1982, and director of programming at WGN-TV, Chicago, in 1986. In 1988, Schacher moved to Tribune Broadcasting as director of program services, a position he held until assuming his current post. Prior to joining Tribune, he was vice president/director of TV sales research for Katz Television. Born December 19, 1948, Schacher holds a bachelor’s degree in speech from the University of Wisconsin.

Marc S. Schacher was named vice president/programming and development of Tribune Broadcasting in March 1995. He is responsible for identifying and satisfying the common programming needs of Tribune Television’s 26-station group. He negotiates with syndicators and distributors for specific program acquisitions and packages.
