Q: I am traveling to NATPE from outside the United States. Where can I find visa information for my country?
A: The U.S. Department of State has added a new feature to its Web site regarding visa wait times. Since visa applications are now under greater scrutiny, the State Department is advising those who wish to travel to the United States for business or other nonimmigrant purposes to plan ahead. The site provides estimated waiting periods to get an interview to apply for a visa and the estimated time it will take to process the application at the consular section. The visa wait times are shown for various locations around the world. The State Department does advise that it is best to check with the local embassy or consular section to confirm the information. To visit the visa wait times site, go to http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/tempvisitors_wait.php

Q: Do I have to be invited to visit the Hospitality Suites or are they open to all attendees?
A: Admission to the Hospitality Suites is at the discretion of the host company. While many enjoy an open door policy for all NATPE attendees, some prefer that meetings be made in advance and/or limited to only existing clientele. As you get closer to the actual Conference & Exhibition, check Exhibitor Show Guide Listing Details for more specific details. Once on-site in Las Vegas, you can always call the suite on the hotel house phone and inquire as to their guest policy.

Q: I have a conflict in my schedule and won't be able to attend a session I really wanted to see, does NATPE record the sessions?
A: NATPE does hire an outside company to record many, but not all, of the sessions held during the Conference. When you arrive in Las Vegas, information on which sessions are being videotaped and how to purchase them should be in your Conference Tote. If not, visit the DVD ordering kiosk to purchase onsite.

Q: Do I have to go through NATPE to book my hotel room for the Conference?
A: No, you can book your hotel in Las Vegas on your own, but you should know that NATPE is holding the majority of rooms at the four hotels nearest the Mandalay Bay Convention Center: Mandalay Bay, THEhotel, Luxor and Excalibur -- and these rooms are being offered through the NATPE Housing Service at a special NATPE rate. And keep in mind that January is a very busy time of year for conventions in Las Vegas, so you may have difficulty booking other hotels, too.

Q: Do I have to be registered to attend NATPE to book a hotel room for the Conference?
A: No, in fact, we strongly recommend booking your hotel room as early as possible. NATPE's Housing Service is available to make reservations online, but can only guarantee rates until December 15. Also, as NATPE is concentrating all events for the Conference & Exhibition at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Convention Center, which includes THEhotel, demand for hotel rooms is greater than ever. The NATPE Housing Service is also holding a block of rooms at the nearby Luxor and Excalibur Hotels, but we still strongly urge everyone to book their hotel room as early as possible.
