Christopher Sandberg, is CEO and founder of the Emmy awarded television and new media production company The company P (www.thecompanyp.com). Sandberg is dedicated to the exploration of human interaction and audience involvement in modern entertainment. He has over a decade of experience in start-ups and as CEO/Executive Producer/Producer in television, online and mobile, ranging from drama to social applications and games. Notably Sandberg was executive producer of the participatory drama The Truth About Marika (produced with SVT).
Productions: Sandberg is currently involved as CEO and Executive producer in one international participation drama with VRT and SVT, several AFP internationally and numerous ARG marketing campaigns and online and computer games for clients of The company P. He holds advisory trustee positions, notably in the creative team for the media summit SIME (www.sime.nu).
Start-ups: Sandberg is creator and Executive Producer for the national DTV channel “Mediteve”, Scandinavia’s first participatory television channel, integrating SMS based chat and formats ranging from game shows to drama (now re-launched as TV400, with TV4). Sandberg is founder of Kramgo (Sweden’s early viral marketing leader), Namni (mobile service and entertainment firm) and Ministeriet (role-playing management company). Sandberg has also founded a ship building school.
Media research and academia: Sandberg has a long history in ICT and media research, notably as acting studio manager of The Interactive Institute game research studio, producer of several pervasive and locative games, co-writer of IPerG (http://iperg.sics.se/index.php, Europe’s largest games and new media research project), CD of showcase in Nordic Handscape (with the Museum of National Antiquities. The company P holds a continuous joint research venture with TII and SICS.
Participatory culture: Sandberg is creator of numerous live action role-plays, notably as CD for the international production Dragonbane, gathering participants from 22 countries (www.dragonbane.org).
