NATPE. Content First USES ONLINE VIDEO AND LIVE STREAMING EVENTS
TO CONNECT TODAY’S GLOBAL MARKETPLACE

Live Streaming Numbers Continue to Grow for NATPE-Produced and Moderated Industry Events

Los Angeles, September 20, 2010NATPE. Content First, the premier media marketplace, today announced impressive tune-in numbers from a series of recent live streaming events. With special events and panels taking place throughout the year—in addition to the annual confab at the Fontainebleau resort in Miami Beach in January 2011—NATPE continues to optimize online video for timely and relevant delivery of content to a global audience.

The most recent streaming panel, held on Tuesday Sept. 14, ‘Quit Whining and Sell Your Show!’, with John Burrud, president & CEO of Burrud Productions, and Peter Hamilton, editor and publisher of DocumentaryTelevision.com, tallied more than 31,000 viewers. Panel moderator and CableU.tv President & CEO Gary Lico facilitated dialogue about techniques and strategies for pitching content as well as unique research about what the networks pay for factual commissions.

“The live streaming numbers we have seen to date this year are extremely encouraging as we get closer to the main marketplace in Miami,” remarked Rick Feldman, president and CEO, NATPE. “The industry continues to evolve at high speed and now more than ever, people crave information and leadership. By embracing the distribution power of the Internet, we are able to immediately deliver resources and creativity to a hungry content community.”

Earlier this summer, NATPE’s third annual LATV Fest lineup saw an overwhelming response from online viewers with 129,310 total streams. The most popular sessions from the four-day event included Digital Programming 101: Get Your Show off the Ground with 25,121 streams; Howie Mandel’s keynote Q & A with Access Hollywood’s Tony Potts, tacking on 12,580 views; and a pair of NCIS sessions, Inside the Writer's Room and Coffee with Mark Horowitz, which collected 13,296 and 11,344 streams, respectively.

Other standalone events that were well-received by web viewers this past year are Creating a Digital Start up in the 21st Century, which took place in April with 67,172 streams and Programming & Monetizing for the Digital Age, a May special that reached an outside audience of 20,067. Upcoming streaming events for NATPE include the following:
